John Simmons Society

John Simmons SocietyThe John Simmons Society, named for the College's founder, honors those alumnae/i and friends who have included Simmons in their estate plans through a bequest or other planned gift, such as a retirement plan designation or a charitable trust. These individuals continue the legacy of John Simmons, who directed that his estate be used to establish Simmons College. John Simmons Society members receive special communications from the College, as well as invitations to select Simmons events, throughout the year.

John Simmons Society gifts are called "planned gifts" because they take extra time and care to create. Often, they are arranged during our lifetime - for example, in a will - and completed when we have passed away. Certain types of planned gifts can help you create income and significant tax benefits for you or your loved ones. But planned gifts are not only about the future. As many who have made a planned gift for Simmons will tell you, they are also about our hopes and dreams today.

There are several types of planned gifts:

  • Giving by Bequest
  • Giving Through a Retirement Plan, or Life Insurance Policy
  • Charitable Remainder Trusts
